Planning checklist
What Information Should You Include on a Wedding Website?
· 6 min read
A practical checklist, from the essentials every guest needs to the thoughtful extras they’ll remember.
The essentials
Every wedding website should answer the questions guests ask first:
- Your names, the date and the venue
- Ceremony and reception start times
- The venue address, with a map link
- How and when to RSVP
Getting there and staying over
Include parking, public transport and taxi information, plus a few accommodation options at different price points. For a wedding abroad, add airports and transfers too.
The day itself
Help guests know what to expect:
- Order of the day
- Dress code, with a short explanation of what it means
- Whether children are invited
- Dietary requirement details, collected with the RSVP
Gifts
Link to your gift list or explain your preference, such as a honeymoon fund. A website is a gentle place to share this without putting it on the invitation itself.
Frequently asked questions
A short FAQ section saves a surprising number of messages. Think about what your guests would genuinely wonder: Is there a plus-one? Is the venue step-free? What happens if it rains?
What to leave out
Avoid sharing anything you would not want widely seen, such as your home address. If your website includes detailed plans, consider password protection or invitation codes.
